General Hospital’s Steve Burton Teases ‘a Whoa, Then a What’ Ahead of Jason’s Exit
It’s never good news for fans when their favorite star announces that they are leaving a soap. And there were likely a group of viewers who were very upset to learn that Steve Burton would be exiting General Hospital. Yep, back in February the actor himself revealed that he would in fact be taking a break from the ABC soap in order to spend time with his new wife Michelle and their family.
Given that his character is a big staple in Port Charles, you may have wondered how Jason is going to make his exit this time. Well, even though details are being kept under wraps, during a recent chat with his co-host Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Burton gave listeners a few teases as to how his character will head off the canvas for a brief time. “It’s going to get very interesting,” Burton shared and assured that there will be plenty going on.
At the moment, Jason has been preparing to whisk Britt away and hide out in Canada while they try to reverse-engineer the life-saving meds she needs. So, it’s only a matter of time before they make their big escape, considering he’s also asked his family to keep an eye on Danny should he go missing for a while. Plus, Michael, who Jason has always respected for being a “good man,” has agreed to become the teen’s unofficial guardian.
Over the next few weeks, Burton promises a few exciting surprises, mainly “a couple of things,” which will bring on “a whoa, then a what?!” So fans, buckle your seatbelts… “It’s going to be fun,” he added in regard to the many things that are still set to happen.
