At the ranch, Adam tells Chelsea that Christine is interviewing Victor about the case against Phyllis. Chelsea confronts him about Billy being in the emails. Will he get arrested as part of Victor’s plan?
Adam pours a scotch and gets defensive. Chelsea, unsurprisingly, defends her ex and worries that Billy could get charged. Adam doesn’t care what happens to the guy and wishes she didn’t. He’s sure Phyllis and Cane will go to prison.
Chelsea warns that Phyllis could damage the company out of spite. Adam’s sure she’ll fold. Chelsea guesses it’s planted evidence, and whoever handed it to the D.A. should be worried. She wants Adam to promise to intervene if Billy is charged. He was offered Chancellor! Adam fumes over her taking his side again, so she walks it back a couple steps.
Adam’s phone rings and he frowns, “It’s Riza.” He answers it and asks if she’s heard from Matt. She clearly hasn’t, so he asks why she called. Adam shakes his head, “No way. That is not going to happen.” Why do we think it is going to happen; he’s done with Spyder. He disconnects and Chelsea asks how far into his Spyder role he went with Riza.
Catching Up
At the Club, Nick takes a call from Christian in the foyer and turns his back to the bar where Phyllis and Matt continue talking and toast to him finding himself. She gets a call too. Matt turns and looks in Nick’s direction but doesn’t recognize him.
As Nick continues on his call, Phyllis and Matt chat about Genoa City. They’re just yukking it up as Nick stands nearby, oblivious. Matt excuses himself and she introduces herself as Phyllis. He quips, “You certainly are.” Matt walks out right behind Nick’s back.
Eventually, Nick finishes his call and notices Phyllis, but ignores her. Victoria arrives and the redhead trots off. Nick and Victoria trash her briefly, and then she wants to know all about Nick’s trip to Vegas.
Nick admits that Matt got the jump on him in Vegas and fills her in on everything that happened. Until he sees a body, he has to assume Matt is still out there plotting revenge. Finally, he’s forced to come clean about his drug addiction. Victoria gets the details and tears up as he apologizes for letting her down.
Surprise!
At the outdoor café, Noah leaves Victor a message looking for an update on his team’s search for Matt. When he drops his phone, Audra picks it up and hands it back. She can tell something’s up and asks what’s wrong.
Noah shrugs about family drama and she gives him a sip of her calming drink. They sit and she gripes about his cousin Claire, who pushes her buttons. Noah asks if it’s true that she tried to come between her and Kyle Abbott. Does she have a thing for him?
Audra gives a cagey answer and complains about being painted as an agent of chaos and deceit. Claire’s jealousy took over. Audra claims she wants nothing more than to make peace. Beneath that sweet exterior, that psycho girl is alive and well. Noah goes inside to get a drink, and Matt Clark appears.
Audra looks up and gawps, “Mitch?” He’s glad to find someone who knows him. Just then, Noah walks out, drops his drink and attacks him yelling, “Matt Clark, you sonofabitch!”
Noah barks at Audra to call his dad and threatens to kill Matt on the spot. Clark asks, “Do you know who I am?” Clearly, he does!
Trouble
At Summers Conglomerate, Phyllis rants to Lauren about Cane reaming her out in public and Nick going off on her again. She insists she’s an opportunist, not a villain. Cane came up with the AI program! Lauren keeps trying to interrupt, and finally is able to tell her, “Houston! We have a problem.”
Lauren explains that the Houston deal fell through, and at least four other deals have been scrapped as well. Phyllis wants to talk to the heads of the companies, but her partner warns they’ve been frozen out. Phyllis squints, “This has the Newmans all over it.”
The Final Scenes
Lauren warns Phyllis that the problem is her arrest. Phyllis is extremely frustrated to hear that office moral is also low. Lauren warns that things will continue to unravel, whether she wins in court or not.
Phyllis muses that she lost everything to gain this company. She had to be cutthroat. She wishes her kids understood that. Phyllis can’t cave and give up now, but assures Lauren it’s fine if she wants to leave. Lauren isn’t going anywhere but fears this may be too hard for even Phyllis to bear.
At the ranch, Adam assures Chelsea that his relationship with Riza was purely business. She believes him, though Riza wanted her to believe otherwise. Adam’s sure she was just trying to get under her skin. Chelsea still suspects he misses being Spyder. Adam concedes there was a spark reignited.
At the outdoor café, Noah accuses Matt of trying to fake amnesia. They all know who they are and what they are. Clark pushes him off and hollers, “Back off for just one second.” As Audra hollers that she doesn’t have Nick’s number and Victor’s screening her calls, Matt begs Noah, “Please, please. Just tell me who I am.”
Noah rants about him trying to blow them all up and coming back to walk around Genoa City. Matt has no idea what he’s talking about! His memory has been wiped. Noah tells Audra to call the police, so Matt socks him and takes off.
At the Club, Victoria assures Nick his addiction isn’t his fault. She should have realized by his behavior. She’s there for him now and isn’t going anywhere. They hug, and Victoria asks how he can be certain he won’t relapse. Nick says their mother will help him and he’ll go to rehab.
Nick’s phone rings… it’s Noah, who tells him he just saw Matt at the park café. He claimed to not know who he was, but he punched him and took off. Nick fills Victoria in and takes off.
