Liesl Obrecht’s Surprise Return – Crashes 2025 Nurses Ball
General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest there’s seemingly a surprise return on the horizon in Port Charles, and there’s a good chance it could be Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati).
As of Tuesday, May 20, the 2025 Nurses Ball kicks off, and the next few days will be filled with fun and entertaining talent numbers, plus plenty of drama.
The promo video for the week of May 19-23 teases a mysterious character who crashes the big party, so GH fans everywhere are speculating on who the person could be.
It’s been a hot minute since Obrecht has been in town.
It felt like after she donated bone marrow to save her newly discovered grandniece, Willow Tait-Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), she faded from the canvas.
While she did pop back into town later on in 2023, she was quick to pop back out and has since disappeared.
With that said, the once villainess-turned-heroine was a fan favorite, and viewers do miss her terribly.
The actress who plays the doctor, Kathleen Gati, has been busy with other projects since seen on GH, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t or couldn’t swing by for another short visit to update fans and loved ones on what the good doctor has been up to.
Plus, Obrecht has participated in many a Nurses Ball in the past, so it doesn’t seem far-fetched that Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) could’ve gone to extreme measures to snag her from whatever she was doing to entice her into performing at the Ball.
Picture it: Coe could announce the next act being a ‘mystery performer’ while the event was in full swing, only to expose Liesl.
She loves singing and supporting the cause, so Liesl would gladly agree to swinging by Port Charles to visit loved ones and perform at the big event.
After all, Obrecht has plenty of connections to the little town. From Willow, who may need a talking to (and her head shook) from her aunt and the woman who saved her life to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) – who could use a friend and some advice from Liesl right about now – as well as her grandson, James West (Gary James Fuller); many would be over the moon to see Obrecht.
GH spoilers remind fans that, as she is a doctor, would Liesl have any advice or insight on Michael Corinthos’ (last played by Chad Duell) condition for Willow or Carly Spencer (Laura Wright)?
Did she once work for the burn clinic in Germany, and have information for either lady?
Then again, considering Nina’s world is falling apart at the seams, could Liesl have any advice for her?
