Exclusive Young & Restless Preview: As Patty Makes Waves in Genoa City, Stacy Haiduk Reveals Her Secret Agenda — and It’s *Not* All About Jack!

The week of March 30, The Young and the Restless’ Patty Williams is ready to take the town by storm. But is the town ready for her? Doubtful! “She’s trying to work her way into society,” Stacy Haiduk tells Soaps.com, adding that Jack Abbott’s first wife is eagerly anticipating “being looked at as truly a fabulous woman.”
It is perhaps less a sign that Patty’s still bonkers that she’d endeavor to resettle somewhere that everybody remembers her last reign of terror and more telling of how confident she is in the work she’s done to get better. “She wants to be able to walk through this town where she grew up and have everybody see her in a different way,” Haiduk says. “We’ll see what actually happens. I mean, do people forgive?”
Patty and Diane Go Back a Long Way — and Not in a Good Way!
Considering that Victor Newman’s kidnapped half of Genoa City, Mariah Copeland abducted a child, and Michael Baldwin once sexually harassed Christine Williams, we’re gonna say, ultimately, yes, people forgive. But one individual with whom Patty is highly unlikely to ever make peace is Diane Jenkins. “Susan [Walters] and I were talking about the history between the two of them with Jack,” Haiduk says.
That tumultuous past dates back so far that, when Young & Restless had other actors playing all three characters, Patty walked in on then-husband Jack in bed with Diane! Now of course the tables have been turned. “It’s pretty upsetting that she finds Patty in bed with her husband,” Haiduk laughs. “So [the rivals’ interaction] is gonna be fun. It gets a little far-out!”
Will Patty Serve Victor His Just Deserts?
Considering that Victor once bought Patty enough plastic surgery to give her a new identity and sick her on Jack — and more recently set her up on the yacht with the object of her obsession — she could be ticked at being weaponized time after time. Haiduk sees it a bit differently, though. “She’s always happy to capitalize on anything that has to do with Jack.”
Even after all these years, Patty remains as fixated on her ex as ever. Her portrayer sighs, “Oh, you know Patty. She’s in love with Jack and has been for a long, long time. So anytime she gets a chance to see him, she’s gonna grab that moment and take it as far as she can.”
This, despite the fact that Jack was a genuinely horrible husband to Patty in the ’80s. “People love to call [characters like her] crazy, insane, bad. I just think something snapped when they were young,” and instead of walk the straight and narrow, “they went down another path.”
