Young & Restless’ Victor In the Crosshairs? Stacy Haiduk Unpacks Patty’s True Feelings for the Puppet Master

It may have been The Young and the Restless’ Jack who brought about Patty’s initial mental break, back when the naïve bride caught him in bed with mistress Diane. But over the years, it’s been Victor who has toyed the most with Patty’s fragile psyche.
First the master manipulator gave the former Mrs. Abbott enough plastic surgery to turn her into a replica of her shrink, Emily. Then he gave her a new identity and sicced her on Jack. And all these years later, Victor is still weaponizing Patty against his archenemy.
Victor’s Playing With Fire
For her part, Stacy Haiduk doesn’t believe that her character would continue to terrorize her ex and his family without Victor’s encouragement. “From the beginning, what I love about him,” she tells Soaps.com, “is that I don’t think Patty would do this stuff if somebody didn’t kind of tempt her into going along on this ride.
“I mean, even the first time that he was bringing her in to go after Jack,” she adds, “Victor was behind it all.”
Should he be worried that payback will be hell? Patty is, it bears mentioning, the reason that his heart had to be replaced with that of Traci’s ill-fated daughter, Colleen.
Is The Mustache In For a Close Shave?
Despite the fact that Victor has terribly used and abused Patty, she harbors no ill will toward him. On the contrary, Haiduk laughs, she’d be likelier to send him a thank-you note for arranging her “play date” with her former spouse and paying her for it. “Patty is always happy,” she sums up, “to capitalize on anything to do with Jack Abbott!”
