Talk turns to Cane’s arrest. He doesn’t know how to prove the emails are fabricated, but what they say is pretty much true, so it could get bad. Cane ruminates about Victor taking Arabesque, which was the last thing he built with his father. He regrets his involvement with Phyllis. Lily thinks that helping Malcolm has stopped the downward spiral he was on.

After some more complaining about Phyllis, Cane admits he was going to give everything back to Victor in exchange for her and the kids. He implicated him in the fake emails anyway. Lily doesn’t believe he deserves to be held responsible when Phyllis acted on her own. She won’t let her get away with this and drag him down!

Diane can’t figure out if Jack’s gutted because of what happened or because he got caught. If she could let go of the pain and feel the love they shared again, she would do it in heartbeat. She’s just so angry. Sally wonders what’s beneath the anger and pushes her to understand that old wounds can make you feel you don’t deserve good things.

The Horrors

At Crimson Lights, Billy tells one of the kids on the phone that he has news when he picks them up next week. As he disconnects, he turns and runs right into Patty Williams. Patty argues she was out of her mind when she did those things and denies doing anything to Jack against his will on the yacht. She’s the brand-new Patty and soon everyone will believe it… Jack will be leading the pack. Billy suggests she leave now and never come back. As Billy exits, Matt Clark walks in, crossing paths with Patty. Patty says hello. She doesn’t recognize him but she’s been gone for some time. He asks if the name Matt Clark means anything to her.

Patty thinks Matt Clark sounds like an all-American jock type. Matt thinks he might be him. Patty doesn’t know if he is or not, but introduces herself. Matt thinks he had an accident or something and needs someone to help him fill in the blanks.

Amused, Phyllis lets Lily know she doesn’t rattle her. Lily declares that Cane is innocent. Phyllis says the evidence against both of them is bogus. Lily tells her she’ll pay for her crimes but she won’t drag Cane down with her. Phyllis informs her she’s never going down for this.

Back on the Cane train, Holden shows up to see his former boss. He’s headed to New York soon and knows Cane is donating from Genoa City. They’re both glad he was a match for Malcolm. Cane tells him he just missed Lily, who left in a hurry.

The Final Scenes

At Society, Diane tells Billy and Sally she hopes Patty comes for her. It’s the perfect excuse to take her down. Billy’s sure she’s still obsessed with Jack… maybe Diane should be afraid of her. He asks if she wants to lose Jack without putting up a fight. Now would be a good time to let go of the anger.

On the Cane train, Holden marvels that it’s all still so surreal. He hardly knows Malcolm, but feels he needs to be there for him. Cane urges him to spend as much time as he can with that man. The time will fly by. “Don’t waste it.”

Lily fumes, “I’m telling you to leave Cane out of this.” Smirking, Phyllis asks what she’s going to do about it. Lily hisses that she will channel every ounce of hatred her mother ever had for her and warns her, “Do not make an enemy of me!”
