As EJ Realizes What Kristen Did to Johnny, Chad Prepares to Unlock Stefano’s Chess Set and Holly Collapses!

 As usual, tensions are running high at the DiMera household when Lani swings by to drop off a present for Rachel. Kristen rants to her gal pal about Rachel being locked up and EJ — sighing that this is boring — beats a hasty retreat before his sis can stab him with the stuffed narwal. The ladies talk about Lani and Eli’s need to find a house, what with Julie’s place being pretty crowded and Paulina currently living at the Salem Inn thanks to Lexie’s return. But it’s not just a social call, with Lani eventually asking if Kristen knows anything about Dr. Rolf’s presence.

EJ swings by to bring flowers to Chanel, who is resting after her procedure. Things start out awkward between Johnny and his dad, but slowly thaw as the younger DiMera admits that he’s struggling with everything going on. Talk turns to the night Sophia attacked Johnny and details — such as her knowing Chanel was supposed to be out of town — that don’t make sense. Flashing back to his earlier conversation with Kristen, EJ suddenly beats a hasty retreat to confront his sibling! Storming into the DiMera mansion, a furious EJ prepares to confront his sister! (Is it Monday yet? Because we’re dying to see this confrontation!)

What’s Wrong With Holly?

Holly calls EJ, freaking out about the possibility of being sued by Amy. His helpful advice? Meh, it’s a federal holiday and everything’s shut down, so blow it off and enjoy the long weekend with her pals on Smith Island. When Aaron and Ari arrive, Tate tells them about the legal development and says their mission for the day is to keep Holly distracted. Meanwhile, Holly is once again feeling a tad unwell. ( Despite s’mores and ghost stories, Holly remains a down-in-the-dumps bummer… especially when one of Aaron‘s story involves a teenage girl drowning. As the night is coming to a close, Holly suddenly gets woozy and collapses!

Unhappy Anniversary!

Abe and Lexie are wandering through the square enjoying the Juneteenth festivities when they’re approached by Eli. He’s got questions for Lexie about Dr. Rolf, but she’s not much help, especially with Abe running interference. When they inevitably cross paths with Paulina, Lexie is shocked to learn Juneteenth is Abe and the mayor’s anniversary. “You didn’t think to mention it?” asks a hurt Paulina, who struggles to get through her speech. Afterwards, she and Lexie exchange a few tense words. Lexie, learning Abe gave Paulina anniversary flowers, says he shouldn’t give her hope. Oh, she adds, maybe it’s time for him to move out of the guest room! Back at Julie’s place, Lexie slips into something super sexy, only to discover that her hubby is just about asleep. But seeing her, he wakes up and they make love.

Chad and Theo Find a Clue!

Chad meets with Theo at the pub, asking for his help in researching the mysterious chess set Stefano left Marlena. The guys decide to play a game on the set, despite the missing pawn. Theo suddenly remembers that the board reminds him of one on which he played with Stefano, and that it had a hidden compartment. Theo figures out how to open the side of the box and out pops a key! After Theo leaves, Chad finds that the key fits into the chess set’s box and calls Belle, asking her to meet him ASAP.
