At Brooke’s place, it’s morning and she teases Ridge, “Should we go back upstairs?” She’s very happy about the prospect of running the company together. Forrester will thrive with her as co-CEO.
In case Ridge didn’t get the message, Brooke makes her expectations clear. It’s time. This needs to happen now. “Steffy must be told today.” Ridge looks miserable.
Brooke won’t let him out the door without running down her qualifications again. He doesn’t need Carter’s input but instead should go straight to Steffy. She needs to know that Brooke will be his new partner.
Topic of the Week
At Forrester, Steffy compliments a staff member named Jesse as Finn walks in with coffee. Jesse exits and Finn growls that he could watch his amazing co-CEO wife all day. Latching onto the topic of the week, he tells his wife no one is more suited to the position. He’s so proud of her.
This goes on and on as Steffy marvels that it’s really happy times at Forrester Creations. Oh boy, just wait!
Confident
At Logan, Liam is still pleading with Hope to work with him. She tells him Forrester may actually come to feel like home with her mom as co-CEO. Liam muses that she seems confident about Ridge demoting his own daughter. Hope declares that her mother standing up for them means no more answering to Steffy.
Hope goes on about why Brooke should be front and center at Forrester. Liam hopes change is in the air at Forrester for her sake, but he wants Hope to promise she’ll leave if it doesn’t work out. Hope won’t entertain the idea that Brooke will fail to get co-CEO.
Hysteria
At the Forrester mansion, Donna tells Katie she’s still upset about their conversation. Half-hysterical, she pleads with her to says she’s not going to lure Hope away from Brooke! She goes on about stealing her away as Katie protests, “Calm down.” No decisions have been made. Donna, channeling Brooke, declares, “This can’t happen!”
Katie and Donna go back and forth as the latter gets hysterical again. Katie cannot do this or it will ruin their family! This seems like an over-reaction given they survived Brooke sleeping with Bill, but we digress. Donna next decides that Hope would never do this anyway, so Katie shouldn’t even bother to ask.
Katie gives Donna the ol’ “it’s complicated,” and insists this was Liam’s idea. Donna understands this but goes right back to accusing Katie of putting business before their sister. “You cannot use Hope!” Katie erupts when Donna uses the word, “Poach,” and hollers that Eric came to her and that she’ll never apologize for using her own name either.
Here We Go
At Brooke’s place, Hope’s arrived, and her mother excitedly updates her that she’s spoken to Ridge. He was hesitant at first, but she explained that they need to be a power couple. He’s meeting with Steffy right now.
At Forrester, Steffy finishes a business call as Ridge comes in. She’s about to make another lucrative deal. She goes on about how perfect things are right now. She loves being co-CEOs together!
The Final Scenes
At the Forrester mansion, Donna has offended Katie by telling her she needs to make it on her own. She knows Katie is well aware of how Brooke would react to this, which is why she swore her to secrecy. This is never going to happen, so Katie better look for anyone other than Hope.
At Brooke’s place, she tells Hope that Ridge wanted to mull things over, but she said no and insisted it happen now. As of today, she’ll be co-CEO of Forrester Creations.
At Forrester, Steffy goes on about them being co-CEOs. Ridge grunts about the contributions everyone has made… including Brooke. Steffy guesses she’s getting in his ear about Hope For the Future. Ridge admits she’s broached the idea of becoming co-CEO. Steffy chuckles. She and Brooke wouldn’t agree on anything. “Are you stepping down?’
Ridge stares at his daughter until realization dawns. “Brooke wants to be co-CEO with you?” She wants to take her spot. “Are you asking me to step down so Brooke can take my position?” Ridge raises his eyebrows. Steffy realizes that’s exactly what her father is asking. She gawps, “You want me to step down so you can be co-CEO with Brooke?!” Ridge’s grave expression says it all.
