Chanel Digs Her Heels In, Much to Johnny’s Frustration, and Lexie’s Already Running Into Problems
Friday, June 5, 2026: Today on Days of Our Lives, Johnny tries changing Chanel’s mind, Theo and Abe learn of her cancer and Marlena covers for Cat.

Rafe meets Cat at the FBI field office where she’s comfortably seated at his desk. She’s about to play EJ. (Not in the fun way.) She lays out using her mom as bait for the wonder drug and Rafe rips into her. She’s not a trained agent. She’s there to gather information, not set up plots and schemes!
If she goes rogue one more time, they’re done. Cat promises it won’t happen again, so they get back to stopping the drug from hitting the black market. But Rafe says they need to get a sample to not let it fall into the wrong hands, which is what Cat is doing, so why was he yelling at her?? He hasn’t come up with anything. It’s all been Cat!
Before letting her go, Rafe tells Cat to keep it professional with EJ — which will be easier said than done if EJ loses the hospital. When she mentions EJ wanting her to get hypnotized, though, Rafe’s all for it. They just have to give Marlena a heads up about what Cat told EJ!
EJ Brings Theo Back In
EJ asks Theo over and immediately worries him by asking how Lexie’s doing. But EJ claims he’s just checking in. Theo does say how odd it was that Lexie was proud of him for being DiMera CEO, which perks up EJ’s ears.
He mentions Johnny needing to step back and lets slip that Chanel has breast cancer, assuming Theo knew. (Which he almost did until Chanel changed her mind in telling him!) Before Theo runs off, EJ asks him to be second-in-command to back Johnny up while he steps back. Of course! Why not?
Does Marlena Sense Lexie’s Off?
Marlena, Lexie and Abe get together for breakfast at the Pub. John’s death comes up and Lexie asks if her treatment could work on John, and Marlena gives her a firm “No.” He’s not coming back. Marlena asks how Chanel’s doing with the pregnancy, but Abe hasn’t spoken to her or Paulina.
Lexie says she told him to cut off contact, Marlena smiles — “I see” — and makes a face. When Lexie excuses herself briefly, Marlena takes the break to let Abe know that she’s there for him no matter what he decides. (If he ever does.) Abe does say that Paulina could use a friend right now, so hey, at least he’s still thinking of her!
Will Chanel Get Treatment?
Johnny brings out a cup of decaf for Chanel as she’s cancelling her chemo appointment. No, she’s not changing her mind. In fact: Hell no! Not only was Dr. George an ass (truth), but no one’s addressed her concerns about chemo with the baby — including Johnny! They start shouting, until Johnny finally yells: “What would be worse than growing up without a mother?!”
Chanel promises that she doesn’t plan on dying or never doing chemo. But she can’t live with herself if she hurts the baby. Johnny agrees that Dr. George was a jerk, but he’s not the norm. Johnny had great doctors going through his cancer. “Well, your experience may be different from a woman’s. Let alone a black woman.” Stressed again, Chanel goes to check on Trey.
That’s when Paulina drops in and Johnny fills her in on the oncologist and begs her to help — until Chanel returns and flips out, hearing him ask Paulina to change her mind! Paulina suggests they find another doctor who will listen and treat Chanel with respect and, after some work, convinces Chanel to keep an open mind.
In the Show’s Final Moments
EJ asks Marlena at the hospital if she has any other techniques to help Cat recover her memories. Marlena says she can’t talk about another patient’s treatment and shortly later Cat rushes over — “Why did you tell EJ you had an appointment for me?” Marlena didn’t like covering for her, but she did.
Abe and Lexie get home and she goes to freshen up, just before Theo returns to tell Abe about Chanel’s cancer. Abe rushes out the door and asks Theo to just tell Lexie that he’s gone out. He shows up at Johnny and Chanel’s as Paulina leaves and wraps his arms around her and tells her how sorry he is. And how sorry he is for not being in touch. “That’s very kind of you.”
After a few more awkward, kind words, they say goodbye to each other. Inside, Chanel agrees to get a second opinion, and if the doctor listens and answers her questions to her satisfaction, she’ll do the chemo.
Rolf calls EJ with “concerning news” about the dead rat. Theo tells Lexie Abe is running errands, then goes to get his phone charger. Lexie loses her balance a bit when he walks off and catches herself on the chair, holding her head. (Well, this is going downhill fast!)
