Hope Makes a Monumental Decision About Her Future — Plus, Wyatt Drops a Dazzling Surprise On Bill

As the episode begins, we pick up at Spencer/Logan, where Hope continues dithering about where her future lies. Suddenly, she’s super sad about betraying her mom. “What am I gonna do?” Over at Forrester, Brooke recaps to Ridge that Hope and her line are back. Wanna start counting now how many times she’s gonna say that over the course of the next 20 minutes?

Shauna’s Baubles Wow Bill

After the opening credits, Shauna and Wyatt show up at Spencer/Logan to discuss the jewelry line. They’re willing to wait for Katie, who’s excused herself to talk to Hope. But Bill insists on seeing the pieces now. Though they remind him of Quinn’s work — naturally, since she and Shauna are besties and have similar taste — he wants Katie’s OK. Aaand he wants something from Wyatt first.

Brooke Jinxes Herself

At Forrester, Brooke recaps the latest goings-on for Eric and an especially thrilled Zende. “It’s been an absolute honor collaborating with you guys,” Zende tells Ridge and Eric, “but ready-to-wear is my sweet spot.” Brooke is ecstatic that everything is working out — and relieved, too. It’s all coming together just in the nick of time.

Katie Talks Hope Off a Ledge

Alone with Katie, Hope laments that she’s leaving the fashion house she grew up in. She should discuss this with Brooke, she thinks. Otherwise, “what kind of daughter am I?”

Katie insists that the secrecy is necessary. What’s more, she will make sure that Hope’s line drops before Forrester’s HFTL line. She needs to think about the future, Katie argues. Steffy is giving her what she wants now. But “how about the next time she has a bad day and decides to put you on ice again?”

Katie goes on to say that whatever terrible reaction Brooke has to the eventual reveal is on her, not Hope. Brooke created this situation, in her sister’s estimation. “You will get through this,” Katie adds, “because there’s no turning back now.”

Hope Lacks the Courage of Her Convictions

Katie goes on to admit to Hope that she had some rough days after leaving Forrester, too. But they have the right to chart their own destinies. “I’m terrified,” says Hope. As if she isn’t sitting on enough money to live 20 lives as it is!

Anyway, Katie likens Hope to her own mother, Beth, and says her niece is being a great role model for her little girl. “I feel like I’m being a total hypocrite,” says Hope, what with her keeping secrets after judging her mother for keeping her own all those years.

Katie counters Hope’s concerns by mentioning that Team Logan believes in her so much that they’ve even greenlit a fragrance line from Fanny. Now they just need one more thing: her to “believe in yourself.”

Wyatt Meets Bill’s Impossible Demand

In the episode’s final moments, Bill tells Wyatt and Shauna he will support the jewelry line if his son gets him the Hope For the Future diamond. “That shouldn’t take a miracle,” Shauna cracks. It hasn’t been even seen in public in who knows how long, Wyatt notes. Who would have the connections to find it? Oh, wait — “it might be me,” he says, whipping out the priceless gem.

Back at Forrester, Ridge announces that the couture line drops the following week with a big bang. And at Spencer/Logan, Katie pep-talks Hope all the way up to the point of “huge international success.” (Wasn’t she already?) If need be, she adds, she and her niece will wipe away each other’s tears on the runway.

As for Brooke, Katie is sure she won’t turn her back on Hope. In the end, “she will be proud of everything you’ve accomplished, and one day, she will understand. If she doesn’t, that is on her.” At last, Hope seems satisfied. She’s staying with Logan. But she does want the line to drop asap.

“To victory!” Katie says. “To victory,” Hope says with less gusto.
