The Young and the Restless’ Summer Newman Return Needed ASAP, 4 Critical Reasons Why
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) certainly gets a lot of mentions on-screen for someone who lives all the way in Milan.
When is Y&R finally going to change that and bring Summer back on canvas?
For a while, it looked like Summer’s comeback might be in the works.
The Summer hints were really piling up, so many fans started speculating about a possible recast heading to Genoa City.
It seems like the plan must’ve been delayed behind the scenes, but Summer still gets brought up quite often.
There’s always going to be a place for Summer in Genoa City, but here are four critical reasons why she needs to return ASAP.
1) Phyllis and Summer need to repair broken relationship
After Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) took over Newman Enterprises, Summer responded by completely shutting her mother out of her life.
Summer made her disapproval crystal clear, but Y&R needs to fix her broken bond with Phyllis eventually.
At some point following Phyllis’ decision to surrender the Newman empire, Summer will get the news and hopefully want to reconnect with her mom.
Phyllis deserves forgiveness since people like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) have been forgiven for far worse!
2) Nick’s drug addict drama isn’t over
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) doesn’t want Summer to know about his drug addiction until he’s got a grip on it, but that’s going to take some time.
Viewers know Nick nearly died in Phyllis’ office, so he’s been in bad shape.
Nick’s drug addict drama will continue despite his efforts to get in rehab and fix his life.
There’ll be more setbacks in Nick’s recovery, so Summer needs to be informed since she’d want to be there for her dad during this difficult time.
3) Grandma Nikki’s medical crisis is brewing
Nick isn’t the only family member whose well-being is at stake.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has a health crisis storyline on the way as well, so that’s yet another reason why Summer should come home.
Summer could return to support her grandma along with the rest of the family as they worry about Nikki’s worsening condition.
4) Kyle’s messy new pairing deserves Summer’s reaction
Plus, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has a messy new pairing coming up since he’ll develop an attraction to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) down the road.
Many fans would love to see Summer’s reaction to Aunt Victoria and Kyle’s burning desires.
This might even give Summer and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) something to connect over since Claire won’t be thrilled about Kyle’s attraction to her mom either.
The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Summer will inevitably make it back to Genoa City at some point, so let’s hope it’s soon!
