Lauren finds Phyllis in her office “considering her options.” They debate whether she should “roll over”. Lauren says Michael is with Victor right now trying to work something out. Phyllis points out Lauren’s involved, but her pal reminds her she came on after the alleged crime was committed, aka plausible deniability.
Phyllis warns Lauren will be smeared right along with her. Phyllis has to win… she cannot be in a prison cell. Lauren thinks she sounds desperate and could make things go from bad to worse. Suddenly, Daniel shows up asking his mother, “How am I your only hope?”
Phyllis tells her son she’s under attack from Victor and shows him the bogus evidence. Daniel takes Victor’s side and promises to visit his mother in jail. When he tries to leave, Phyllis tells him that it’s Christine who will be sending her up the river. She asks Daniel to get Danny to convince his wife not to take the job.
Daniel rants about his mother’s nerve and suggests prison might be just the thing to wake her up. He rants until Lauren has had enough. She fumes that his mother did what men do on a regular basis. But they get called titans of industry or corporate raiders. “You tell me?” she demands, “Where’s the justice in that?”
Meanwhile, at the ranch, Victor’s bellowing at Michael, who wants to propose another option. Victoria thinks this is a stall. She and her father warn they’re not bluffing. Victor declares, “No negotiation!” Michael tries explaining to Victor that this is a matter of pride for Phyllis just as it is for him. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t work.
When Victor agrees to “humor” him, Michael advises it’s not smart to force an enemy to fight to the death. What if he can convince her to sell him the company back. A trial could make him look guilty as well. Victor questions his allegiance to Phyllis. Michael muses that a lot of people question his allegiance to him as well.
Climax In Vegas
In the abandoned garage in Vegas, Sharon, Noah and Adam frantically call Nick’s name. Nick gasps, “Seem stronger.” Adam explains he took pills. Elsewhere, Matt watches via video feed and mutters about the little rich boy finally getting the bad batch. “Such a shame,” he mocks.
Adam, handily, finds bolt cutters to free Noah and Sharon as Nick gasps that it’s hard to breathe. Sharon’s almost unbearably shrill as they try getting water into Nick, who can’t get up. Adam tells her he took fentanyl.
Meanwhile, Sienna’s in her car on the way to the garage. “Only six more miles,” she mutters before seemingly seeing something concerning in her rearview mirror. She slams on the brakes when she spots Matt.
In the Vegas hotel suite, Chelsea’s pacing is driving Riza crazy. She gets a call from Matt, who accuses her of lying to him. She claims Nick and Adam lied to her. Matt’s just happy to have the Newman clan cornered. Riza tries to weasel his plan out of him. He says he’s about to wipe out the garage. There’s going to be a huge fireball in the desert.
Riza updates Chelsea, who becomes frantic when she learns Matt’s plans. She pleads with her to try and reason with Clark. Riza begrudgingly calls, but he’s blocked her. Chelsea decides to call the one person she knows who can make miracles happen… and has the resources to do it. Gee, wonder if it’s Victor?
Back in the garage, Adam updates Noah and Sharon on Matt locking them in a storage room, and explains that Nick is addicted to the fentanyl they found in there. Sharon deduces that he got a bad dose. Noah worries they’re sitting ducks.
In his car, Matt’s muttering happily to himself about the “junkie” going down when he’s startled by Sienna getting in and confronting him. He’s shocked she’s learned so much… and from Riza. He warns her to walk away, but she won’t budge.
As Nick’s condition worsens in the garage, Matt tries to get rid of Sienna, who begs him to let the Newmans go. Clark muses, “What do I get in return?” She says, “Me.”
The Final Scenes
In Phyllis’ office, Daniel tells his mom she’s better than this. She wishes her son supported her as much as Lauren does. With that, she flounces out. Lauren tells Daniel the evidence is bad, but fabricated. He asks Fenmore to talk some sense into his mother. She may not survive prison.
At the ranch, Victor shows Michael out, telling him there’s only one outcome he’ll accept. Victor then takes a call from Chelsea, who fills him in on Matt threatening to blow up Sharon, Noah, Nick and Adam. He barks, “Send me the coordinates, OK? Right away.” Why does no one call the police? They’re… closer?
In the garage, Nick falls unconscious, while in Matt’s car, Sienna tries to sweet talk him into reuniting. He thinks she wants to save her boy toy. They watch as the Newmans drag Nick onto his feet. Sienna keeps pressuring Matt to get back together. She has all the assets Victor took except the club. Matt turns his phone to the detonator and blows up the garage.
