Sally and Billy Face Their Pregnancy Fears — and Lily Is Shattered by a Call From [Spoiler]

At home, after a second test confirms Sally is pregnant, she asks Billy what this means for them. She thanks him for being so sweet to her and reminds him he’s part of this. He’s more concerned about how she’s feeling. Sally admits that her thoughts are going too fast. He reminds her there is no rush.

Sensing his avoidance, Sally complains that she feels alone and needs Billy to be more present. He wonders what it implies about their relationship if she reached out to Audra first and was afraid to tell him? He wants to be a man she can count on.

Sally explains she didn’t rush to tell Billy because she was thinking of the baby she lost and worried this would bring up memories of Delia. They remember how they first bonded over the loss of children. Sally admits she lost herself when she lost her baby. The guilt of surviving ate her up. That’s not something she’s sure she can face again.

Nate Gets an Update

Stephanie is thrilled when she runs into Nate at the Athletic Club. Olivia has told her all about him, but not how good-looking he is. They chat about medicine and how hard it was for him to leave it behind. She asks if he knows her son. He nearly spits out his drink when she says it’s Holden. Nate is quick to change the subject back to the marvels of medicine.

Lily Gives Devon and Nate Big News

Lily joins Holden at Society. They are still waiting for news on whether the twins are a match for Malcolm and dive into discussing their father. Lily is vague about how her uncle is her biological dad, but assures Holden that an optimiste and a real “free spirit.”

Holden wonders if Malcolm will return to Genoa City once he reaches the recovery stage. Lily wonders if this means he wants a relationship with their dad. He’s not sure what that would look like and admits that he’s angry with his mother. Growing up, he was always the kid with a dead dad. He had to lie to himself and everyone else about it. Now, he has to face the fact that his mom robbed him of a relationship with his father.

Even if he and Malcolm have a chance now, they can’t get back what they’ve lost. Lily reminds her new brother he has an expanded family now. Holden doubts that Nate and Devon are going to welcome him with open arms. She decides they’d better face it head-on, so she calls Nate and requests that he bring Devon over for a family meeting.

When Devon and Nate arrive, they are put off to see Holden there. Lily explains that Malcolm is Holden’s father: they just found out. Although she makes it clear that Malcolm wasn’t cheating on Olivia, she’s cagey about the details. Holden leaves, and Lily declares that they have to face the fact that Holden is part of the family. Devon, always the wet blanket, reminds her that they could say the same of Tucker.

The Final Scenes

At home, Billy holds Sally as they agree losing a child is unimaginable. If the best happens and she has the chance to carry the baby, she may still fumble. Sally knows that to be human is to make mistakes, but she also knows Billy will be there. They decide to leave the figuring out to another time and move side by side as a team.

Holden joins his mom at the Club to discuss the meeting with Nate and Devon. Holden admits his past with the family isn’t glowing. Stephanie offers to smooth things out, but he insists that whatever happens will be okay. He’s not expecting them to accept him. Stephanie suggests he give them time.

At Society, the Winters family agree they have a lot to consider. Lily gets a call and steps away. She chokes up as Malcolm informs her that the twins are not a match. Devon and Nate rush to her side as she collapses in tears.
