Take Cover! Young & Restless’ Phyllis Is About to Turn the Tables On The Mustache — Here’s How

Lady luck just smiled on Young & Restless’ Phyllis, even if she hasn’t quite realized it yet. Once she does, she’ll quickly understand that she’s back in the driver’s seat where her battle with Victor is concerned. What’s more, when she turns the tables, he’s not likely to see it coming!

In the Young & Restless weekly preview, we saw Phyllis in the Athletic Club with Michael, and the clip suggested that she wanted to make a deal with Victor. But when the lawyer assumed she wanted to concede, and give Victor back his company in exchange for him dropping the fake email charges, she surprised him by saying she had something else in mind.

Well, SOAPS readers, we couldn’t imagine what other trick Phyllis could possibly have had up her sleeve that she hadn’t used yet, but after seeing Wednesday’s episode, it’s suddenly a whole lot clearer where her head is at in that scene.

After shooing Patty away from Matt Clark in Crimson Lights, and gravely explaining that she was a dangerous psychopath, she ended up discovering that he, too, was a dangerous psychopath. Who knew?!

Phyllis was shocked speechless by the realization that the affable amnesiac she’d become acquainted with was her ex-husband Nick’s notorious nemesis. But we’re certain she’ll regain the use of her facilties in time to take full advantage of the situation. How?

Well, Victor’s mantra is that he puts his family before all else. Even the company. Supposedly. Which means that dealing with Matt Clark and protecting the Newman clan should be his number one priority. It won’t take Phyllis long to put two and two together and realize that Matt Clark is basically the Holy Grail of leverage if you’re looking to cut a deal with the Black Knight.

We’re guessing Phyllis will stash Matt in a room at the Club for his own safety, before making her way to the meeting with Michael, in which she’ll ask him to offer Victor and the Newmans a swap: She’ll hand over Matt Clark in return for them dropping the fake email charges and calling off Christine.

Will it work? Well, that remains to be seen. If Phyllis doesn’t hide Matt well enough, or he takes it upon himself to go exploring the town again, her whole plan could fall apart!
